HELLO AND STUFF!
---------------
This is just a little note to say who I am, and what I think I am up
to! Well, my name is Pete Grant, and the relevant facts are that I am
fairly new to computing. I have been a musician for years, working in
the theatre, as well as dabbling with blues bands and the like. In the past
year, I have been hit by illness and consequently stuck at home for most
of the time. Enter the Amiga! I have spent my time beginning to get to
know this great machine. I have also discovered the joys of OctaMED. I
had never really been open to making music on the computer in the past,
but I have really enjoyed making these first few modules. It is like
learning to play a musical instrument all over again, and I am grateful to
have had something so interesting to do, these past months. I hope that
anyone listening enjoys the mods, and does bear in mind that we all have to
start somewhere!
You can load the mods by using the loading requester on the OctaMED
player, or by double clicking on the mod icon of your choice. If you do
it this way, though, please remember to stop the mod and closing the
OctaMED player window, before attempting to load another mod!
Thanks for reading,
PETE G MAY 95
ABOUT THE MODULES
-----------------
BREAK IT DOWN (BOGIE MIX) Like the other two modules on this disk, this one
------------------------- was made using a mixture of PD samples, and
guitar and voice samples I have taken myself
using Megalosound. He might have died the year I
was born, but I still think Humphrey Bogart was
cool.
PETE FUNK This was the first module I started on, and the
--------- last of the three to be finished. The female
voice is that of a seventies TV presenter who
disapproved of this new fangled pop music. I
began to discover player commands doing this
one, but I managed to tear myself away before
I drowned the module in echo!!!
WOODEN EYE The idea of this one was to attempt to record
---------- a structured song with a couple of different
solos on it. The title comes from the punchline
of a dubious joke I heard a million years ago,
and the voice sample is of a genius alas no
longer with us!
A CONTACTS REQUEST
-----------------
Being new to the Amiga, I am really keen to make contacts with other
Amiga people, and particularly those who use OctaMED. I would love to hear
from anyone, and you can contact me at the following address:

I will be putting together some more music disks this summer, and would be
happy to swap mods, samples, etc.
